January: What is Grade 3 studying?
ELA:
Module 2: Adaptations and the Wide World of Frogs
Module Summary: In this module, students will read poetry and pourquoi tales about different kinds of frogs to generate “why” questions. In Unit 2, students will build their ability to read and understand informational text and begin to build their knowledge of frogs through closely reading excerpts of the informational text Everything You Need to Know about Frogs and Other Slippery Creatures. They will build their knowledge by studying three "freaky frogs" that have specific adaptations according to where they live: the glass frog, the Amazon horned frog, and the water-holding frog.
Unit Tasks:
- Students will learn to plan and draft an informational paragraph to include a focus statement and facts, definitions and details from the text to explain their ideas.
- Students will read an informational text, answer selected response questions about it, and use it to write an informative paragraph.
Eureka Math:
Module 4: Multiplication and Area
Students will…
