Meet the Teachers

    Mrs. Van Patten:
    Erica Van Patten has been teaching all levels of ESL from Kindergarten to College since 2000. Before New York City, she was an ESL teacher in Westchester County for 6 years.  She is currently a 5th grade and an ESL teacher at PS 108.  She has also worked as an adjunct professor of writing at Westchester Community College for 10 years.  She recently published an ESL book which can be found here.
    Ms. Loughran:
    Ms. Loughran is the 5th grade ELA teacher at PS 108. She attended Eastern Connecticut State University for her undergrad degree and Long Island University for her masters degree. She worked as a special educator in Connecticut for three years. Ms. Loughran strives to inspire a love of reading in all of her students. 
    Ms. Billingsley:
    Ms. Billingsley, also known as Ms. B., has been a teacher at PS 108 since 2000. She attended SUNY Oswego for her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary and Middle School Education and the University of Western Connecticut for a Master of Science degree in Education. She has taught various grades throughout her career, and especially enjoys mathematics!  When Ms. B. is not planning lessons or correcting papers she can be found playing with her two cats Fuzz Fuzz, a red Persian and Imer, a Norwegian Forest Cat.  She also enjoys reading, singing, fly fishing, and riding on the back of motorcycles and quads.  Traveling is another favorite past time of hers.
    Mrs. Bennett:
    Ms. Zaglauer is a native New Yorker. She has a Masters Degree from Mercy College and attended The College of New Rochelle for her undergraduate degree. Ms. Zaglauer has been an educator in New York City for 9 year and also taught in Shenzhen, China for 2 years. She is committed to student success inside of the classroom and in life.
