Meet The Teachers

  • Kindergarten T4, Ms. Olivo:

    Ms. Olivo has been an elementary school teacher with the Department of Education since 2003.  She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from St. Thomas Aquinas College and a Master’s degree in Teaching and Learning with a concentration in Literacy and Language from Kaplan University.  Ms. Olivo has taught Second grade and Kindergarten.  This is her twelfth year teaching Kindergarten. She enjoys seeing the amazing growth that her students make throughout the year and is so honored to be part of their journey. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading, and shopping.  She currently resides in Rockland County where she was born and raised.

    Kindergarten T7, Mrs. Bergin:

    Mrs. Bergin has been teaching elementary school with the New York City Department of Education since 2007.  She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication Studies from the State University of New York at Oswego and a Masters of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from Hofstra University.  Mrs. Bergin has loved teaching kindergarten students for the past eight years.  She feels that kindergarten is a critical time in a child’s life because it provides an academic foundation for future grades and sets attitudes about school and learning. 

    Mrs. Bergin grew up in Queens, New York.  She currently lives with her husband, two children and a Wheaten Terrier named Oliver on Long Island. She enjoys spending time reading, walking on the boardwalk and biking outdoors 

    Kindergarten 229, Ms. Marino - Ms. Simonetti:

    This is Ms. Marino's third year at PS108 as a Kindergarten teacher.  Ms. Marino has her Bachelor's degree from Iona College in General Education. She also received her Master's degree at the College of New Rochelle for Special Education.  On her spare time, she loves spending time with her family and friends. Ms. Marino cannot wait for what this year will bring with her Kindergarten students!

    Ms. Simonetti has been a special education teacher with the Department of Education since 2011. She holds a bachelor's degree in Communications from Pace University, a Master’s degree in Counseling from Long Island University, and a Master’s degree in Special Education Early Childhood/Childhood from Mercy College. This is Ms. Simonetti's fifth year teaching Kindergarten. She is passionate about teaching Kindergarten and believes it lays the foundation for a child's academic and personal success. During the summer months, Ms. Simonetti enjoys spending time with her family and friends in the warm weather. She is a new mom who currently resides in Westchester with her husband and her son.
